Pauline's 23rd Birthday

For her birthday, Pauline invited us to Cypress for boarding and dinner. It was a fantastic day, the sun was shining and the company couldn't have been better. Everyone was vivacious and entertaining. The slopes were a bit icy, but hey if we can handle boarding on ice, we can handle anything! Despite it being only my third time boarding, I got to teach some of my friends how do some advance maneuvers (I'm a quick learner). The view was absolutely stunning, you could see the entire city and, later, the city lights. In a mood of appreciation, I wrote "Thank You" in the snow.

We had dinner at Old Spaghetti Factory (OSF) and although some of us were worried that we would be drained of energy, the group dynamics brought the best out of everyone and kept us all engaged. I had a realization about what makes OSF great; when you want time to decide on your meal, OSF makes sure that you're not starving by giving you complimentary bread. It's freakin' fantastic! The conversation was lively, the company was energetic, the food was superb and Pauline was a year older!

It was an absolutely fantastic day! Celebrating Pauline's life brought out the best in us!

Boarding for the First Time

Ann Marie and her friend Vince had me sample snow-boarding for a ridiculously cheap price. I should have known, like the drug dealer on the corner of the streets, they were using that first experience to get me hooked. I started twitching the week after and had to head right to the mountains to get my fix, and surprise, surprise it was with them again.

I absolutely love the sport! A new identity for me: I'm a boarder...
